NetUnion was founded in 1996, in Lausanne, Switzerland. NetUnion specialises in the development of online therapeutic support tools for eating disorders, flexible platforms for supporting clinical research and data collection, and online training applications. NetUnion participates in European Research and Technology Development project, where we act as a catalyst for transforming leading edge research into practical applications, and as a technology transfer agent; packaging new methodology and best practice as training modules tailored for the continuous on-the-job training needs of businesses, public, professional and end-user organisations.

Research: The company has a successful track record in innovation. In 2002, we pioneered the development of an online self-help program for Bulimia within the SALUT project (IST-2000- 25026). Since completion this program has been deployed for clinical and research use in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Austria and Sweden. Our Computer-Based Therapy and Training (CBTT) Platform, is currently deployed for supporting clinical research on Obesity and consumer attitudes and behaviour in the Integrated project Diogenes (Diet-Genes-Obesity, FP6-2005-513946).

Training: ESR (especially in medical informatics) participates in the research, development and validation of new therapeutic models integrating the latest information technologies. The company also contributes training in “best practice” on the use of online data collection platforms, privacy, data confidentiality and security issues. We also help coordinate training opportunities in the important areas of project management, management of technology, and by extension innovation management. These topics are especially important in helping ESR in acquiring the skills required for moving into management level positions, in academics or in industry.
